
Dr. Ahmer Younas was raised in Staten Island, NY and obtained a Bachelor of Science at Haverford College, Pennsylvania. After graduation, he enrolled in Ross University School of Medicine and earned his M.D. in February 2000. He then completed three years of Internal Medicine training at Albany Medical Center. During his residency, he discovered his aptitude for cancer patients which inspired him to enter a three year fellowship program at the University of Cincinnati.
While in fellowship he actively enrolled patients in clinical trials and advocated a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. He continued to pursue his academic interest and gave multiple grand round presentations on topics in both Hematology and Oncology. His research on lung cancer was published in the American Society of Oncology proceedings.
After completing his fellowship, Dr. Younas worked as a Hematologist/Oncologist in Kansas in 2006 and then joined the HOPE Oncology team in May of 2007.
Dr. Younas's practice philosophy is grounded on being an ally and advocate for his patients. He sees his role in navigating the patient through the often difficult journey after the diagnosis of cancer. Dr. Younas enjoys building a synergistic relationships with his patients and as an educator empowering them to help make sound choices.
Dr. Younas is married and has a son born in 2005.
